Hi everyone…
been out to lunch with some friends…
Theresa
Hi to everyone, Talulah wasn’t on form in the saloon last night. She’d spent most of the day in the ‘little shed’ at the bottom of the yard. She’s feeling better to-day and will be kicking up a storm in the bar later in the week. So all you Storm Riders come on down. Any requests - She’ll be starting with a rendition of “She’ll be coming round the mountain when she comes, Singing Yi Yi Yippee Yippee Yi…”
Hugs to all those suffering SEs from the variuos forms of treatment.
Clare
Nice day then Theresa.
Ah, the little shed, yes, Steel has spent some time there too. Thankfully not since Sunday! Hope you left enough paper in there. Lol.
ahhhhhh I see, yes, that shed…been pretty busy there myself too - hope you’re feeling better now Clare! mary x
Just a quickie before I go out. It’s really great to hear everyone talking about rads. It makes it seem that everyone is coming to the end. On that subject, yes I drove myself nearly every day. DH took me a couple of times, but only because he wanted to feel as though he was doing something to help. And I saw on another thread that apparently you can get factor 50 suncream on prescription. Too late for me - I’d already bought mine, but good for the rest of you.
Talulah, what about a rendition of “I’ll get by with a little help from my friends”? Have a good evening.
Happy Birthday Sal, hope you have a great night out. I’ve been absent for a bit as laptop had to get sent off to the wee man for a clean up as started going bonkers !
Re rads, yup I only used huge £1.99 tub from asda, started slapping it on twice a day 2 weeks before then upped it to 3/4 times a day during and make sure to drink plenty water too. For the first and third week of my rads I drove myself on the epic nearly 4 hour round trip, did me good to be out there doing my own thing but it was a bit tiring so don’t plan on doing too much else.
Hope the eye improves soon Linda, ouch, a nuisance and a pain.
Glad Lizzie that you and Helen had a good day together, like you say roll on November.
Great that the wee ones are growing up Gen ,then you can get them to do the ironing !
Have had such a pain in my hip the past few days, getting in and out the car is soo painful, am not prone to paranoia and in the past would have put it down to sleeping funny but now… hmmm don’t even want to write what I’m thinking… . …will just see how it goes over the next few days.
Thanks for the recipes Carole,am baking like a demon at the mo !
Sandra x
You were sleeping funny. Or it’s just a big delayed ache as your body recovers from rads. Try some hip stretching and opening exercises. You might have trapped a nerve or just twisted a muscle. Possibly done while getting out of the car. Easily done and you don’t even know it. I’ve had an on going trapped something in my elbow. Obvious thoughts too, but I found if I massaged it I could remove the pain. Tah Dah, obviously something not in the right place. It’s taking a while to stay in the right place whatever it is, but I’m training it and it’s getting better. Point being, your body is a bit under the weather and will be prone to surprise injuries for a bit. Don’t panic! Don’t panic!
Sooo tired. Off to bed incredibly early. Dumped the steroids today in an attempt to get much needed sleep. Will probably have to trade that off against feeling yucky in the tummy tomorrow, but I neeeeed to sleeeeep!
See you all tomorrow.
Back quickly. Forgot to say, I’ve sent round the bunkhouse plans by email.
Eliza, Clare, Sheila, Martina, and Nikki - I don’t think I’ve got emails for you. I’ll PM you mine again. Sorry if you’ve sent it and I’ve misplaced it already! Clare - you’re probably behind on this - I’ll pm you too.
If I’ve missed anybody, don’t shoot me, just stick the gun in my back and remind me to get you on the list!
Easier said than done, I know, Sandra, but try not to panic. As Carole says, it is likely to be where you slept or a general mishap. Tamoxifen gave me some aches and pains but even if it is that you may find (as I do) that glucosamine deals with it. It really isn’t likely to be anything else! Problem is that paranoia just sneaks up on us these days …
Sleep well, Carole. I’ve sent you both email & pm.

Just seen that property number 4 has a Karaoke machine… lol
Theresa
Ah you can’t beat a spot of karaoke. I do a mean Snow Patrol - Run.
Just to add to Carole’s email that the Shropshire Stokes Barn location is only available for the weekend 22 November, so bear that in mind in your decision making.
Morning everyone…
Theresa
Morning All
Oops, missed the 22nd thing on the bunkhouse plans. Thanks for the heads up Gen.
Couldn’t sleep, got up, NOW I feel sleepy. Typical. Crawling back under the duvet for a bit.
Martina - how many rads again?
Rosie - last one. Yippeekayay!!!
Morning all
Hot, hot, hot here so another day trying to keep cool, how great would it be to have one of those sit in tubs, I’d be in it all day! Anyone have one?
The meet in November sounds so exciting, I don’t suppose anyone’s anywhere near Bath/ Bristol are they as I don’t have transport…if not maybe there is a station close to one of them? I’ll try and get there somehow, would hate to miss the first Stormrider Gathering!
Hope the hip pain is better today Sandra, it’s all the standing up baking you’ve been doing I expect, is it your cake stall weekend this week?
Hope you had a great night out Sal and celebrated your birthday in style, plenty to celebrate this year having got through your op and rads…no bad head this morning I hope
Great to read you decided to give yourself a day to enjoy feeling well Gen, I don’t know how you manage to work at all but I think we have so many cr@ppy days we deserve to have the good days to ourselves…hope you’re doing the same today!
Rosie great to hear you’re coming to end of chemo, at least you’ll have a couple of weeks before rads, they’ll be finished before you know it!
Anyway, time for a cool down, have some great aerosol cooling spray which is fantasic, helps with the bald head sticking to the leather sofa!!
Hugs to all and hope you manage to keep cool, Di xxx
oohhh herefordshire one has a pool!! If I go quiet its because later today I’m off camping for long weekend in my combi-camp, will be prob popping back on over the weekend as I’ll be back n forward to collect or drop off the kids and will come and say hello…mary x
Di - we’ll get you there somehow kiddo!!
Morning all
Another beautiful one here - hope it’s good where you are!
Belated Happy Birthday, Sal, did you have a good meal last night?
Oh, I’d love a tub in the garden, Di, could squeeze one in, just couldn’t afford it!
Plans look great for November, thanks Carole, Sal and Gennie for your research. It’s going to be great!
Martina, that graduation thing is great, isn’t it? It was my eldest son’s last year, loved it. There was a streamed link (or something similar! - not very techy, me!)and I sent the email address to my sister in Edinburgh, who managed to watch it and see James go up on stage. She’s even more emotional than me (which is hard!)and was blubbing away at her computer at work!
Last one Rosie - way to go!! And a whole new band of Rad chicks waiting in the wings …be fantastic when you are all through. I drove most days - well, it was all of 7 miles - sorry!!
OK, out in to the garden, bit of dead heading and stuff, can nearly flex the ankle now! - lovely colours in the bruise! Going down to the stables later, promised to give mate a jumping lesson, in return for pub lunch, bargain!!
Lizzie XX
Good luck with the last one, Rosie!
Great to hear you had a good day yesterday, Martina. Also that you’ve picked up the rads baton!
Have a good long weekend, Mary. And, Di, I’m sure that we’ll get you there. Even if there isn’t a station close to one of them and there isn’t anyone immediately near you, we ought to be able to work out you getting a train to somewhere one of us will be going near and do it that way.
Catch up later,
Eliza xx
Yaaawwwn and streeeetch! Good snooze.
Have a fun weekend Mary. You’re combi sounds great!
Di, absolutely, we will get you there, never fear. We’ll work on that over the next wee while for everybody once we finalise the venue. Pickups from houses, stations, plane stations, or vague locations in the middle of nowhere are all no problem as the Storm Riders ride the country with spare pack horses and the odd wagon!
One thing I’m looking forward to is a pub lunch! All you pub lunchers and evening diners are making me envious. Something I just don’t get the opportunity to do the last year or so (once I think!). Hmmm, another thing to put on the “things to remedy” list.
