I had thickening of my right breast upper outer about 18 months ago, which was scanned and I was told it was nothing. The thickness did go away. It didn’t appear to follow any pattern, but I do have Fibromyalgia and wonder if it has anything to do with it.
Anyway, more recently, the last 2 months i’ve had thickening of the same breast again, I haven’t bothered to go to the doctor, I guess because I feel like a hypochondriac sometimes, but now i’ve got something a little weird and thought I would ask people. When I stretch my arm upwards, I feel a pulling within the same breast, deep within, but definitely the breast. I’m wondering what this might be, just because of the thickening? Does anyone else or has anyone else had this pulling sensation before? I’ve never had it, so its just worrying me a little. In fact when I think about it, I can feel a little tightening, even when sitting down.
I know I should go to the doctor, but i’m almost to the point where I am fed up of having to go, i’ve always suffered with illness, and more recently a few years ago diagnosed with Fibro, so I am a little fed up I guess.
Hi, I think any changes like that you should go to see your Gp, thats what they are there for and it certainly needs checking out. Make sure you mention all them symptoms.
good luck i hope it works out
Hi
I also have fibromyalgia and totally know what you mean about constantly going to the GP and feeling like a hypochondiac. It took me ages and ages and lots of referalls to get a diagnosis and i was sure the GP was thinking ‘god, not her again’ but i do agree that you should go to the GP.
I’ve not had any stretching feelings like that myself but as you know fibro causes all sorts of odd feelings.Lets hope thats all it is but please do go and get checked if only for your peace of mind.
All the best.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I guess I really do need to go, but I was kind of hoping someone would say to me not to worry, its just another Fibro symptom!!
I think one thing any of us that have been diagnosed with breast cancer would say is to get anything unusual or different in your breasts checked out as early as possible. Hopefully it will be nothing or related to the fibromyalgia. I think it’s easy when you have ongoing health problems to neglect other things in your body or to see everything as related to the other health problem.
Don’t get fobbed and get checked out properly so you can hopefully have proper peace of mind.
good luck!
