STRINGS

Been told 2day ive got strings under arm ? has anybody else had these been doin excersise how do i get rid of these

Cording? I had cording, it was horrid! But it went without too much trauma - though it was very painfull. The physio told me it can be hard to get rid of and some people never do completely. Listen to what the proffessionals tell you, perservere and good luck

Perhaps ask your BCN to get you an appointment to see a physiotherapist ASAP so they can show you what exercises to do to ease it off?

Hi xwelcomex
Thanks for posting the link to that report, fascinating stuff which should perhaps be more widely broadcast in the UK since there seems to be a lack of knowledge about cording, and what to do about it.
Every time I’ve felt my breast, shoulder or armpit tightening up I’ve been giving it real stick with vigorous exercise and still having to do that 4 or 5 times a day, now 3 weeks post rads. But it’s doing the trick and after 5 minutes of exercise the breast tissue returns to feeling soft and “normal” again. I’ve been fortunate to have a very helpful Pilates teacher who has adapted some of the physio exercises I was shown to make them more demanding, since the basic ones weren’t enough.

Im seeing physcio next week and going to lymphdemer class im 4 weeks after surgery not much improvement hopefully things will get better soon

Hi Elaine
You poor thing, you’ve been suffering with this for a while now, it sounds so painful. I hope the physio and the class help you.
Sarah

Thank you i seem to get rid of one problem and then another one appears thats life i suppose

That’ll teach me! I didn’t do as many exercises as usual yesterday, nor did them as hard, and this morning found I had my first cord appeared, in my armpit. Ouch! Did lots of REALLY hard exercise and gave it some real welly with a self-massage and it seems to have gone again. Make a note to self “don’t kid yourself that you can start easing up on the exercise, you’re not there yet”.
