i had IDC grade 1 in april 06 followed by wle and 25 rads then got a second IDC in the other side in may 09 this time it was grade 3 with LVI so had chemo followed by 25 rads.
then in january 2010 was found to be a brca 2 mutation carrier so have briefly spoken to my surgeon about bilateral Mx… he suggested skin spaing, nipple sparing using pig skin implants with expanders… he didnt expand on this (excuse the pun) so dont really know what the whole procedure involves except from what i have read myself or on here.
anyway im just a bit worried about the consequences of having a recon after having rads on both sides.
i asked him about tram flap or diep but he thinks i am too slim (i disagree) but hes referring me to a PS but that wont be for a while and he said the surgery doesnt need to be immediate as the radiotherapy protects me for 6 years (ever so specific hey!)… im just impatient and want to know more now.
