Tonight around the world various buildings, monuments will be turned pink for bc cancer awareness.
The pink ribbon was first financed by the Estee Lauder family they started the Look Good Feel Better events that are so popular with many of us and give us a welcome lift. It was while at an event for aids Evelyn Lauder (I think) asked her husband to finance a pink ribbon for breast cancer as the aids charity seemed to be leading the way and although more women were dying of bc they were not represented enough and she wanted to change things.
So tonight I will put my 2 flower arrangements one deep pink flowers from Elaine and Andrew and the other delicate pink roses from Ian will be joined on our dining table with a few scattered petals and I will light a candle to remember all our friends who died of this vile disease.
