Hello.
4 weeks post left mastectomy with immediate LD recon, I am left with very sensitive skin mainly around my shoulder blade area. Clothes are uncomfortable against it. The skin is normal colour, temperature etc. I was prescribed medication by my surgeon but it makes me drowsy and dizzy so I only take it at night when desperate.
Does anyone have any tips on getting releif or able to give an idea how long it will last. I hope its not permanent!!!

I had a WLE and node clearance and was left with very sensitive skin at the top of my arm. I believe this was due to some nerve damage from the operation. The only way I could deal with it was by wearing very soft clothes (e.g. silk or fleece fabric). It lasted a few months and made me quite miserable at the time but it certainly wasn’t permanent.

My upper arm was very sensitive after my mastectomy last year, it gradually subsided over several weeks.
