Surgery May 2018

I am having chemo first then an op but wondered if the test CDC is having in America could be done following a  biopsy? I sound similar to CDC but just got I area that’s 50 mm approx but no sentinel lymph nodes are involved as I have had 2 removed and tested.

I am up and ready for op round 2. Thanks everyone for your messages and your encouragement. Hopefully I will find put today what the poking out wire is…(BCN emailed to say she thought it was a stitch but then I was told my stitches were dissolvable??).
Feel a bit apprehensive…it’s a different surgeon doing the op today as mine is on holiday. I asked to have appointment with new surgeon before op but was told I didn’t need too…so I have so many questions to get through!!!
Have a good day all xxx

Good luck Jazza. Thinking of you xx

Sending a hug for today Jazza

cdc … I know what you mean, knowing when our results are being discussed … then we have to wait !!  I can’t start tablets yet… have to wait for results… it was worth asking though. Great having your friends over, they’ll provide some extra distraction before tomorrow’s appointment. Got everything crossed for your results. I always tell myself that worrying won’t make any difference to my results but it’s easier said than done. Does the MDT have to ‘agree’ about onc dx even though you would self fund? A short break for your OH sounds like a plan :smileylol:

Short hair rules ok … pleased you like your new cut Kip. Hope scan goes ok today xx

Hope everyone else is ok this morning

Xx

JAZZA big hugs and positive thoughts to you today. Take care and when you are feeling up to it let us know how you are doing xx

Hi everyone, thinking of you Jazza.  Bone scan done today, results in couple of weeks.  I popped into Macmillan centre at hospital today and came away with 4 soft beanie hats and a Velcro fringe to tuck in, looks quite good.  Wig tomorrow then the dreaded chemo boot camp begins Monday !  Still can’t sleep so scared at moment.  Keep worryin* about nodes even though surgeon said they were not at enlarged stage. hoping onc3 chemo unde4 way I feel little more up beat.  Hope you all had good days, hugs Kip xx

Glad you like your new TM boobs CDC. I am pleased with mine too. It is difficult to know what to do about chemo. There is really no right answer. Just do what is best for you and your family. Whatever you decide don’t beat yourself up about it. Kx

Are TM boobs much smaller? Ta.

Hello everyone, just popped in to say Hi and wish you all good days, now off to buy wig!   Kip xx

KIP good luck big hugs and thinking of you today x

Hi all, back from wig shopping, so many to chose from, quite difficult to make up my mind.  Having had long hair for so long I was sure I would opt for something similar but actually think it may be short, seemed so much cooler for the summer ahead.  I haven’t picked “the one” yet as they are ordering in some in the colour I like so that I can chose then.   Hopefully will be feeling ok from chemo to go and pick them up!!

Suns gone in here … doesn’t help with positivity!

Kip xx

Just a quick update to say my results appointment was pretty grim. I need a mastectomy on right (possibly left if genetics comes back positive.) Tumour is not ‘behaving as exoected’ and latest histopathology shows speckling of cancer cells throughout the tissue from margin shave. Oncotyoe testing cancelled as MDT and oncologist say I need chemo. My surgeon said save your money and go on an amazing holiday! Trying to think positively but a year of chemo, surgery, radio then 10 years of hormone therapy all feels very daunting. Still if it gets rid of this f***ing disease it will be worth it! Xxx

Hi CDC,

I’m from the April thread. Sorry you’ve not got the news you wanted and hoped for. A year of chemo sounds rough. Is that before or after surgery? Having had a mastectomy I would say that the OP itself is nowhere near as bad as you probably expect. Tonight you need chocolate and vodka!

Good luck
Sally

CDC. So sorry to hear this. Nothing I can say but sending hugs and positive thoughts to you. Scream shout and swear as much as you want on here we are all on this journey with you. We will all beat this dam thing together xx

Sorry to hear that. I am having chemo until possibly sptember but am seeiing oncologist on tuesday then a TM then radiotherapy. I started chemo 2nd may. Chemo is not too bad so dont wprry re that. I was looking into possible DIEP and mastectomy so check out all your options re reconstruction if you wish. I found out today I have been set up for TM on the NHS at a different hospital as my bospital advised that it wasnt an option.

A hug for all who need one xx

CDC come and join us in the June Chemo thread, it’s new to all of us.

I’ve not heard of AC (unless it’s to keep the room ?) but the T I’m also having after the EC.

Enjoy your choccy/vodkary treats

Sally

34GG to 38D? I have given up alcohol as alcohol, sausages and bacon cause breast cancer apparently. Has anyone had counselling as its been recommended for me so will get an appointment in the next few weeks?

Jazza  … hope you’re doing ok xx

CDC, I am so sorry to hear your news. But we will be chemo twins as mine starts on the 19th too. The day after my son finishes his A levels, which is also my birthday. We will be having a big celebration on 18th. We will get through this together!!! Kxxx
