Hi @linz1314 - I was pretty much told the type of op I was going to have, there were really no choices given. It was a lumpectomy, they mentioned potential to need further ops depending on pathology results so at that stage I did ask would it not be better to just have a masectomy and their advice was no, but they would have if I had really wanted it. I went with their expert opinion with the information and results they had following my chemo. As it turned out they were completey right, I felt that I was in safe hands throughout and totally trusted their judgement. No further op was needed they did an amazing job. I was lucky that my tumour was only 40mm and that chemo had done its job completely. I am sure when you have the consultation they will give you all their evidence based options. All thd very best.

Mine was 6 weeks.
Last chemo 4 March. Surgery on 17 April. Had to go to Eastbourne instead of Hastings as my surgeon couldn’t fit me in within their preferred timescale.
I had a lumpectomy with sentinel node excision.
The surgery was a breeze and the chemo had completely killed the lump.

Ah thank you for messaging. I know I need a full mastectomy so I hope it’s less than six weeks as I know I will spiral otherwise xxx
