Hi Jill

Just want to wish you all the best for tomorrow - and yes it is perfectly normal to be teary one min and ok the next, cry your tears when you need to and let it all out. Good luck with op it will be over before you know it and good to get it done with.

Lots of love Anne x x

Hi Jill,
Wishing you all the best for tomorrow! if you wasn’t teary, l would want to know why! sound absolutely normal to me to have a cry or two or even more!
I am sitting here thinking about my mx, which was in May, and it still makes me cry! you think you cope then slap bang!! But each day gets better, and we need to let it out!
My 3rd FEC next week, so we are all getting there xxx

Hi Jayne, Thinking of you, for your mx on 11th August, the main thing is it needs to be done before we go forward, so onward we go!! xxx

Hi Anne Hope you are keeping well? xxx

Hi Jill

It all keeps goin around in my head i feel really positive about things then next minute i feel that i cant cope anymore and wantit to all go away. I am sending you lots of luck for you op. This is the way forward to a speedy recovery. Loads of love, hugs and positive thoughts to you Jill. Take care Julie xxx

Jill, sending cyber hugs and good wishes for tomorrow. You’ll soon be back home again. x
Julie, same for you next week. x

Good luck with the surgery Gill, you will be well looked after I’m sure. Take one little bit at a time and savour the ones when you feel ok(ish) :-)) You will find that you are made of tougher stuff than you thought.

Good luck, Jill and Jayne. I’m 2 and a half weeks post-mx and it’s not been nearly as bad as I expected. Of course it’s weird, sad, and bloody uncomfortable but it’s also a massive relief - at least it was for me.

I keep thinking that in future, people won’t need to have bits of their bodies lopped off because of cancer but, for now, this is the very most important step to ‘curing’ the disease we have. xxxxxx

Thank you all so much for your replies,I do appreciate them, will let you know how I get on.
Lots of Love to you all

Hi Jill

Just wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you as I will be in hospital too! I am having a sentinel node biopsy tomorrow at day surgery and mx with reconstruction on 28 July.
It is all very worrying and I feel up and down as you do. Just trying to be tough and face whatever the future brings with courage

Best wishes

Carol

Hi all,
Hope you are not feeling too bad if you have had your surgeries. I had the evil left boob off 12/7. Am up at this time waiting for my next painkillers but it is really just uncomfy.
Big hugs to all and give yourselves some randr. XXXXX

Hi hope you get chance to see this before your surgery today - good luck and thinking of you.

I had Mx in March and not too bad. I was glad when it was over though and get that nasty cancer out of me but recovery not too bad I only had to stay in overnight and was able to get about at home (with drain of course) but that was fine

good luck and hugs to you too Jayne for next week.

One step closer to getting back to normal… xxx

Hi to all

I had my left mx on Monday, and came home yesterday afternoon (with one drain). Its ok; just sore in all the places I’d expect. Taking things easy at home, with help from family. I have a temporary prosthesis and feel a bit ‘pneumatic’.

Its really supportive to read posts from you guys who have been through this. So far I don’t feel weepy; that will be next week when I get results!

Saddest bit about the hospital is that there’s a children’s ward; puts it all into persective somehow.

Good luck one and all.

Hi Everyone. Sorry I have taken so long to post only have not been very well, the op went well and then I must have picked up a infection so my temperature shot up and have been in bed a week, but feeling better now. I have got a seroma so am going to hospital every other day to be drained. I am adjusting quite well i think, apart from the odd weepy session. I hope all the other ladies who have had masectomies are also doing well and send them my love.

hi jill glad to hear you are doing ok after your surgery i had a mx with ld flap recon at the same time about ten days ago. everything is looking really with the recon i to have been back to hospital today with sermoma it only took about ten minutes to drain and feel much better now. they did say that it is common and you with probably have to come back a few times for it to be drained off. i am really pleased with my recon and i can still wear my usual lower cut tops that i wore before and you cant tell i have had anything done i think it brilliant what they can do now and dont regret having it done. good luck and love to all those ladies out there who are going through the same thing.

Hi Julie, Glad you are doing ok after your mx, and that you are pleased with the reconstruction. Unfortunately I was not suitable for one as I have an immune disease which effects the skin. I am doing ok, just the seroma keeps filling up so quick, is yours like that. When its drained its such a relief and then in no time its off again! Never mind, its got to stop sometime I guess. Keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on.
