Thank you Tili for your lovely message.
I’m doing really well.
Glad you’re feeling well @nutmeg1 I have my surgery on Tuesday and your positive post is very reassuring. Take it easy x
Hi Twinks,
I’m amazed how well I feel. It’s uncomfortable but no where near painful as I imagined it would be. The care is beyond wonderful and so very reassuring.
Lots of good wishes for your surgery and recovery. Please let us know how you get on.
I was diagnosed with lobular invasive BC a few weeks ago and am having a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy in 2 days time. The waiting has been horrendous and I just want it to be over. I’ve already been started on Letrizole and thankfully so far have had no side effects. Like previous contributors to the forum, until a few weeks ago I was blissfully unaware of what was about to hit me! It’s been quite a shock but I’m trying to keep positive and reading some of the stories on here has been a great help.
Welcome to the forum @pmeg14
Good luck with your surgery. The forum is so helpful and friendly.

Thank you! Yes, this forum has been brilliant with some positive stories from people with a similar story to mine. I don’t know what type of breast cancer I have (other than knowing it’s a lobular invasive cancer) but don’t understand what ER+ or HER2 or other such terms mean but I guess I’ll find out more tomorrow. Good luck to everyone who’s in the middle of treatment just now xx

This is for ER+ and PR+
This is for HER2+
Hope it helps. If you have any concerns, worries or queries I would suggest getting a notebook and writing down everything so when you talk to your team or the BCN nurses, it’s all in front of you.
Dear pmeg14,
Wishing you a speedy recovery after your surgery, we have all been there, now we are here with love and support for you.
Take good care, come back to let us know how your getting on when your feeling up to it.
With the biggest hugs Tili
Thank you so much for the info. Makes things a bit clearer now. Good idea to take a notebook with me. Sometimes, when I remember, I record the consultations on my phone which helps me to remember what’s been said. Thanks again.
Thanks so much Tili. Just preparing to fast overnight and be up at 6 am! Will post again after surgery.
Sending you hugs and best wishes for tomorrow, hope all goes well
Xx
Well, had my surgery yesterday and I have to say I’m feeling so much better than I thought I would! I came home with an armful of painkillers but so far have not needed to take many at all. The breast wound is pain free and I have what feels like a bit of tightness in my armpit where the sentinel node biopsy was taken from. I’m being very strict with doing the exercises as suggested by many contributors to this forum so all is good……so far! Thank you to everyone with your lovely messages of encouragement. Now is the waiting game - a nervous three weeks for the results and then radiotherapy!
So pleased it all went well and you are pain free.
I have just been through the same, its all the waiting that gets to me.
Stay strong, the surgery for me was ok.
Hi all. Have just read through this thread as I’m having a lumpectomy and sentinal lymph node biopsy tomorrow. Great to read the positive and similar concerns and stories. The last 4 weeks have been a scary time and now i just want the op done and the C removed. We are supposed to be going on a long planned bucket list holiday on June 3rd to the Maldives… I’m praying that we can still get there as it will be 7 weeks post op. Hopefully I can start any further treatment (hopefully just radiotherapy) when we get back. Fingers and toes crossed that all will be fine.
Dear spider-since,
Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow, take good care and be kind to yourself
Do let us know how you’re getting on when you feel up to it.
Biggest hug Tili
Hi Spidey_sense
I’m now 5 days post lumpectomy and snb and I feel amazing! No breast pain and can now lift my arm above my head with very little or no discomfort. I have no tiredness and can’t believe how good I feel I do hope your operation and recovery goes really well and I’m sure you’ll be able to get away and have a fab holiday in the Maldives
! It’s just the next few weeks’ waiting for the pathology results that’s that’s going to be a nervous time for us both but fingers crossed it’s good news for us! I do hope everything goes smoothly for you tomorrow. I’ll be thinking about you. Take care
Pmeg14
Thanks Tili. I was first on the list so all done and back on ward by 10am! Still a bit drowsy but SO glad it’s done x
Hey pmeg14. Thanks for the response and that’s so great to hear your recovery is going smoothly! I’m waiting to get the nod to go home, but I did take the opportunity to try all the drugs offered so have had some Fentanyl and Oramorph since i woke up All seems good so far and hope I have a smooth recovery like you. Yes, the waiting for results is the hardest bit… x
Dear spidey_sence,
Well done to you, my brave girl. Wishing you well.
Take one day at a time, lots of rest, plenty of well deserved treats when you get home.
Keep posting, so happy for you.
