Hi… I’m glad I found this forum. I did DMX with immediate reconstructions 2 years a go as I’m brca1+ and my mother had breast cancer at her early 40s.
All was good until last night when I noticed that the area between my left armpit and breast is swollen, kind of red and painful to touch compared to right side. It’s not red now but still swollen and painful when touched. Went to GP and she confirmed it’s slightly swollen. No lump was noticed. They booked me for US on friday morning and I’ll see my breast surgeon on Monday.
I am really scared here. Has anyone gone through a similar thing.
I get that you are worried about this but until you see a breast surgeon you won’t know. It’s really hard especially with a family history. The redness and swelling could be infection or something else, hopefully the ultrasound will shed some light.
