Hi was just wondering whether any one else has found there eyes swell up 2 weeks into fec, i noticed it with the first fec i had and thought it was a reaction to penicillin. 2 weeks into second fec and my eyes are swollen again, so obviously another side effect. Will mention it to onc next thursday for fec 3 on friday.

I also had swelling around my eye, on the right one only though and it started a few days after chemo. I asked the oncologist before chemo 2 and was told it was likely due to the steroids. I’m on FEC 100 with 2 cyles done + 9 days. I also have twitchy eyes if that adds anything else into the mix. But that could be because I’ve been reading lots…

Hi Jenna, eyes are still swollen and tearful. Its not due to steriods as finished those 2 weeks ago. Still have eyelashes so not that. Not sure what it is, although could be dry eyes. Will definately mention to onc on thursday. Thanks for reply though.

I had real eye problems on fec, and it actually lasted for a good few months.Onc gave me drops which relieved the soreness,but it then developed into an eye infection so had to have eye ointment.
I would ask for something before it has a chance to become a problem.
