Take a chill pill… Dear all, I’m wondering if any of you are using the Chillow Pillow and, if so, how you’re getting on with it. On a bad night, I wake several times in the night with hot flushes and it takes me a while to cool down. Is the Chillow effective? How does it work? I’m humming and haaing about getting one and would welcome some insight.

chill pillow Hello Tawny,my wonderful mum-in-law bought me one.Im not sure I filled it up correctly but followed all instructions…having felt like I was on fire after my last rads it was nice to have it under my chest when sleeping.The only thing I found was it wasnt as soft and sqiudgy as a pillow so I put it inside a soft pillow case,now im used to it its ok.I found it was better to put it in the fridge to get properly cold !!! Good luck anyway,my duvet is off and on all through the night due to the dreaded hot flushes.By the way you fill it up with water and one side is soft fabric.Let me know how you get on,i think its something that you get used to as its not as fat as a pillow.Take care,Debs

Hi Tawny

I’ve been using the Chillow now for a few months. I’ve got used to it and find it great. My only concern is that it weighs and ton and I don’t know how I’ll cope on holiday because I think its too heavy for the suitcase and I don’t know how it will travel. You’re not supposed to empty it once its filled up apparently.

I used to use it every night because of the night sweats but now I find that I only need it once in a while. Its really comforting if you wake in the night feeling really hot. I got used to going to sleep with it but now I leave it by the bed for “just in case”.

Its worth investing in one particularly with the summer months ahead.

i’d say get one Hi Tawny

Ive got a chillow too, i dont use it all the time as i find if i sleep on it all night, it seems to warm up with the heat off my body.

I keep mine under my bed and when i wake up having one of my tropical moments, i reach for it and it cools me down almost instantly.

Worth getting for the summer months as somebody has already said.

Thanks everybody! I ordered my pillow a couple of days ago…since then, no hot flushes…typical! Still, I’m off to work in Sicily next week so I’m sure that the chillow will come in handy.

I dont like it you could have had mine, but think i have messed it up as i have drained it. didnt know you were not suppose too.
Anyway its in the box in the loft.
Last summer i was so so so hot on chemo and that heat the chillow pillow used to move down and i used to end up lying on it and it was as hot as me and too hard.
No advertising job for me from chillow.

My fav is my metallic headboard its freezing and i put a hand out and it cools me.
