Im a bit concerned as I have been prescribed 40mg tamoxifen a day. When I picked them up for chemist they questioned the amount but said as its for 4 weeks, they will probably change it to 20mg after that but just had copy of letter to my GP and he said he wants me on 40mg all the time.
Im not happy about this. Only been on them 5 days and hot flushes at night are a nightmare, hardly any sleep. My cancer is ER+ 8 which is really high and I am happy to give it a go with the tamoxofen if it helps but the dose is a be much…anyone else on this high a dose?
I was ER+8 too and I’m on 20mg which I understood was standard. Definitely worth querying, even if just to understand the justification for the high dose.
Hi nickif I was just wondering if your still on 40 mg daily as I have been on 20 mg for 2 yrs and also have a ER+8 as are a couple of my friends I don’t know anyone on 40 mg and was wondering the reasoning behind it .I hope the hot flushes settle down for you the first few months on it can be tough but iit did settle down for me x
