I am writer of " back on the Happy Pills". I have been back on them now for about a month and feel tons better BUT I am taking half the dose as the full dose makes me very tired and my eyes v blurry. I went on Nolvadex too and now take Nolvadex in two halves, one at 9am and one at 9pm. I do the same with my Citalopram, which means I have to quarter the pill. My theory is, if I ask doctors to lower my dose so that I can half the pills instead, I will be paying more in prescriptions as they won’t put more than 60 days on any of my scrips. It is fiddly but I manage. I feel tons better. I take the morning dose with a little bottle of Yakult light and the evening one with a small galss of oats milk which is delicious. I don’t know if it is my imagination or what but, since following this regime, the nausea, bloating and upset stomachs have stopped and the hot flushes greatly lessened to almost non. I still have stiff painful joints but that is all. Also I have swapped to naturally decaffinated tea and my headaches are less. Now all I have to do is try to lose some weight. Tried counting points but they keep moving too fast for me!!
Well. after 2 months of being up all night with flash after flash, I went on vitamin e and evening primrose, could be coincidence but I have 5 nights of the best sleep in 8 months! I know it could be a fluke, but I am monitoring it!
Oh lovely sleep, I feel human again!
That is really helpful advice - I am going to get myself sorted out - and sometimes it is good for someone like Liverbird to bring things into perspective - of course it is definetely worth taking the old tammy. Five years seems such a long time though! Thrifty - you have been really helpful and I need to lose weight too (LOADS!). Just started Rosemary Conley and apparently they have had lots of ladies on Tamoxifen manage to lose weight - so I am going for it! Thanks everyone - talk to you again. Hope things improve for everyone. Love K X
Just read your comments Katster. Thank you. Haven’t been on for a while. Have you joined Rosemary Conley? If so, how are you getting on?? Hope you are feeling better.
Starflower Oil …great! thanks for that …I’ll give it a go. I have lethargy (understatement) nausea/achey-ness too …I really thought I’d just have to live with it. Thanks a million!
Make sure you get the SFO capsules that contain at least 220mg GLA. It will take approx 6-8 weeks before you see the benefits of taking them. I don’t know where I would have been without them. There’s an extremely good offer on at the moment by a very well known health supplements company [not allowed to mention who]. The nausea can be kept under control as well - my GP prescribes Stemetil [dizziness and nausea] or Metoclopramide [nausea] for me.
Lethargy… I’ve yet to find something to combat this and some days are worse than others, but it’s always there 24/7.
Achiness… Glucosamine/Chondroitin are meant to help with joints, otherwise painkillers and/or anti-inflammatories.
