I started tamoxifen in June and in September persuaded my GP I should stop taking the antidepressant Sertraline due to possible adverse effects on tamox. Now I feel that I need to take some sort of antidepressants. His view was Sertraline is not one of the worse offenders but he could see my point of not wanting to risk tamox not working fully.
Incidentally according to mcmillan, more research is needed on this but personally i dont want to take risks at this stage.
Has anyone any advice on antidepressants which are ok with tamox please and how bad we’re side effects?
Hi Sportygirl. I stated Tamoxifen in early September. I take Citalopram as an antidepressant which I don’t think affects the Tamoxifen. I hope someone will correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t suffer any side effects with it but I have seen posts from a few people who have but many more positive posts.
I’m sure more people will be along with advice soon.
