pixie i had awful bleeding when i was on tamoxifen the first time really heavy, prolonged and erratic… would bleed for 10 days stop for 10 day bleed again with lots of flooding.
i had a d and c (and got a mirena inserted) and that helped.

ta for the advice. i’ve not actually started tamox yet - been advised to wait til after rads. Not sure if it is a period - just seem to be ‘spotting’ on a daily basis at the mo (if that makes sense) i’m seeing onc tomoro so will ask about it.

Pix sounds like your body is kick starting now you have finished chemo and your hormone levels are rising/settling.
Sure your ONC can shed some light on it all
Bit of a bugger tho huh?

Pixie,
I’ve been through this as well. Periods on and off during chemo then stopped on Tx then whoaaa - 2 horrendous ones. Went to GP then referred to gynae then Onc and the conclusion was it was my hormones settling down after all the drugs.
Yes, it’s horrid and an absolute pain and it gets you down (just one more thing after all we’ve been through) but you should get it checked out just in case, seeing as everyone’s different. But from doing my own homework on here when it happened to me it seems as though it’s a fairly common occurrence so hopefully nothing to worry about.
Take care, Bella x
Thanks again for the advise here - it more than what i got with the doc! i mentioned it today at rads…wasnt my usual onc and he really didnt have a clue, so have to wait til next week now after he discusses it with my onc. He mentioned possibly putting me on zolodax if periods continue on tamox, any one else had this mentioned? In the meantime my son is just gonna have to put up with a grouchy hormonal psycho-mum while i start my period every morning and finish by the afternoon!

My ONC said tamoxifen would stop my periods but it takes time. 6mths plus she said and she had no idea why they were so painful!
I guess it will take time to settle but its not a nice ride for me or the family!!
good luck pix
