Can anyone help… I’ve been on Tamoxifen for five months now and the hot flushes have all disappeared. However, I suffer from terrible pressure where I just burst into tears for no reason! Does anyone else have this?? I also have to take fluid tablets to reduce swelling, I am exhausted all the time. I am fed up feeling this rotten!! My clothes don’t fit and exercise is hellish!! LOL

Hi Irish girl, so sorry to hear you are having these effects, that’s rotten. So far I ‘only’ have hourly flushes and am now seven momths into my five years, so hoping it stays that way. However there have been a fair few posts from people having exactly the kind of s.e.s you describe - moods swings, tears, bloating etc.
If it doesn’t settle quickly, maybe you can speak to your BCN or GP as they may be able to help?
Given all you’ve been through why wouldn’t you be weepy sometimes? It could simply be all the stress of treatment finally working its way out? Last week I found myself ridiculously upset over something trivial that a year ago I’d have laughed about - I am sure it was partly the delayed effect of all the treatment, worry, etc.

hi . i was very similar to you … i had dreadfull symptoms. and massive weight gain … you need to go back to your onc. and explaine how your feeling… i did and i was taken off tamox and given an alternative… its bad enough what we go through without feeling lousy because of the hormone treatment …but there are lots of things available… angie x
