I don’t subscribe to the idea of putting on weight while on Tamoxifen but I would like to know is it slows down weight loss. I grant you at the moment I am not getting any exercise and the weather has been against us all but I was just wondering. I belong to ww and have lost two stone with a minimum of another stone and a half to lose is the tamoxifen going to slow me down?

Just wanted to give you my experiance, I put on about 12 pounds during my treatment and started the Tamoxifen about 6 or 7 weeks ago, I have lost 4/5 pounds in the last 4 weeks. I’ve not been exercising just watching what I eat a little more than usual and trying not to snack. I do seem to feel slightly hungry a lot of the time but I’m not sure if this is due to eating slightly less or the Tamoxifen. I know some people do struggle with their weight on this stuff but at least for me it is possible to loose weight

I put on 2 stone throughout my treatment and resembled an Ooompah loompah by the end of active treatment, I started Tamoxifen in August and it has taken me since then to lose a stone , now its a lb here 2lb there and very very slow, before my dx I was a little overweight and was able to lose 1/2 a stone in 3 weeks so I think it does slow down the weight loss well it seems to for me anyway, It is possible to lose weight whilst on Tamoxifen but I have found it very hard going and can get a bit depressing, best of luck I still have at least another stone to lose before I am back to pre treatment weight and then another stone to be at a good weight for my height etc so I can see me being on a diet and exercising for the for-seeable

Just wanted to say that i managed to lose weight while taking tamoxifen. By the time i had finished with surgery, chemo and rads i was about 3st overweigbt (only about one stone was put on during treatment). I started tamoxifen last january and joined weightwatchers in april. By christmas i had lost 3stone and have so far kept it off. So for me i dont think tamoxifen adversely affected ability to lose weight.
