Hello!
I started on Tamoxifen a few weeks ago and felt OK for a few days, then I got this horrible flu thats going around. Nausea also kicked in which was like a horrendous hangover, I’d just start vomiting if I moved too quickly. Thankfully the nausea and flu have passed but the fatigue I feel is insane. It really doesnt matter how much rest I get, I feel useless. Can’t get through a day without a big lie down (I made it to 4pm yesterday then crawled into bed fully clothed and passed out for a few hours!).
Really not ideal with a very active 14 month old and a job, I’m trying not to go off sick until after surgery in January so I don’t run out of sick pay too quickly. Did anyone else feel like this? How long before it got better? I’ve been pretty tired for quite a while even before diagnosis but this is on another level.
Hi @neonnomad.
Sorry that you haven’t had a reply yet. It must be such a worrying time for you, and must be so difficult to deal with.
I thought you might find this thread useful from other people discussing their experience and tips: Tamoxifen Experience - Going through breast cancer treatment / Hormone therapy - Breast Cancer Now forum

Hi @neonnomad
Sorry tamoxifen is kicking your butt. It affects everyone very differently. I struggled with fatigue on it as well. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the oncologist yet but it might be worth telling them how it’s affecting you if you have. I hope the surgery comes round quickly for you and that you have some time off work over the holidays so you don’t have to take too much sick leave.
