Tamoxifen side effects and other possible cancers

Hi
I’m due to go back to my consultant on weds for my final results after my mastectomy and recon and I’m pretty sure she’ll tell me to take tamoxifen. I’m loathe to take anything as I was trying for a baby before this happened and need to decide on the risks of not taking it anyway, but I have read horrible things about it possibly causing other types of cancer! Seems crazy to me to take something that stops one type but could give you another!
I’m hoping I’m grade 1, stage 1 but am ER+ probably quite high.

I want to look at natural ways of reducing the oestrogen levels with diet etc rather than pumping myself with drugs for years. I didn’t even like taking the pill before!

Has anyone got any thoughts or opinions on tamoxifen?

Any help much appreciated.

My consultant told me reduced come back by 50% in first 5 years…

snowie,you have to make that decision based on your prognosis. I decided not to tke tamoxifen but had a good prognosis, small lump no spread no vaxcular invasion. For me tamoxifen didn’t make a lot of difference.
There are ways you can lower your oestrogen levels through diet, exercise and lifestyle.
At the end of the day, it’s your body. Tamoxifen has side eggects as any drug has.
read up on it and do your own research.
