I have been on Tamoxifen since 04 January 2008 (just over 5 weeks). I have had vaginal irritation, which is better than it was. The discharge continues. I am also depressed.
Does anyone have these symptoms? I would be glad to hear from anyone as I am feeling quite depressed.

I too started Tamoxifen on 4th Jan!! I’m taking CP Pharmaceuticals brand. I have been much more weepy since being on them and have had had itchy legs (starts 2 hours after taking pill!) and at times stiff joints. Other than that have no side effects apart from no periods (but that is the good news!).
I hope our bodies will get used to the drugs eventually. Some people on here have had better results after swapping brands but you’ll have to give the one you’re on a good chance before a GP would change brand.
Have you tried talking to your Breast Care Nurse about it?

I am hoping to change to Arimidex, (an aromatase inhibitor) but am waiting for the result of my bone density scan as it can apparently cause osteoporosis.

I think Tamoxifen has made me very weepy and, I wouldn’t say depressed, just a little sad… lot of tears.
Aside from that, as Gill says, achy joints (especially in hands and ankles) but nothing tooooo bad.
Talk to your nurse, you shouldn’t be feeling depressed. I found my sadness came about not only when I started Tamoxifen but when I finished my hospital treatment so it could be either/or.

i have been not so much sad as quite grumpy, been on it since Dec. Also v stiff ankles , esp in the morning!
