Tamoxifen Tail?

There are loads of Tamoxifen threads on here, so sorry to start yet another. Just wondering if anyone else has this side effect? (There are some ancient threads which suggest I’m not alone but even so…)

I have been on Tamoxifen for about six months now, and for the last four have found that I get a very achey coccyx (tail bone) for 1-2 weeks of each month which I assume corresponds with the dip in oestrogen. it disappears as quickly as it arises and then I get 2-3 normal weeks. I’ve checked with onc. and BCN and they assure me it is nothing to worry about, but wondered just how many other pre-menopausal gals also also get Tamoxifen Tail (as I’ve called it).

I also call him Tam O’Xifen as no female drug would operate the boil-and-drown policy!

Hi Revcat

Just come across your posting - its quite a while since I had tamoxifen (almost 15 years), but can remember the coccyx problem only too well. From memory it did get better, but can recall struggling with it when at the gym doing situps!! Was on Tamoxifen 5 yrs and think that was around for probably the first year.

Hope this helps.
Cheers
Anne

Thank you Anne… just had a week’s walking holiday completely pain free which was fabulous but wondering how long until it returns… good to know I’m not alone and that it’ll pass in time.

Hope all is well for you.
