Hello ladies,
I have been on Tamoxifen for just over a year now.
I had an M.R.I. scan a few weeks ago as i had pain in the base of my spine, Luckly this came back clear but what they did pick up was a cyst on my ovary.
I have had cysts there before and they come and go around my monthly cycle, so i thought that they must be controlled by hormones so as you can understand i am a little worried that the Tamoxifen is not working and even more so as i lost my mum aged 50yrs to ovarian cancer.(i’m now 42yrs old ).
Has anybody else had this problem while on Tamoxifen and if so how was it dealt with?
Thank you for reading this posting and i await any replies.

im really confused,i thought if the ovaries were removed you could have alternative medication from tamoxifenxxx Elaine
I had an ovarian cyst removed (along with said ovary) when I was pregnant with my eldest (who’s now 16). When I was prescribed Tamoxifen in March I asked if this was a contraindication, but my bcn said it wasn’t anything to worry about. I did feel she answered too quickly without really considering it properly, but I felt I had more immediate concerns. It’s interesting to read everyone’s comments here.
