I will have been taking Tamoxifen 2 years in December and have been experiencing horrible joint and bone pain. Has anyone else experienced that kind of pain. The pain is so bad that I can hardly walk…

Hi pinkbow

I have been on it for only about 4 months and just seeing one of the side effects (discharge) but not ached, I think you need to talk to your onc who would want to know about any side effects your experiencing.

Hi. I have been on Tamoxifen for 3 monthes now and have a very sore head, not like a headache but sore. How strange it is…am going back to see my breast surgeon tomorrow.How about having a chat with your breast care nurse…good luck

I have joint pain i am not sure if its the weight gain obviously made worse with tamoxifen or the affects of tamoxifen on my bones.
My knee is very sore at the moment and i continue to have low back pain hardly being able to sit for much longer than half an hour.
Onc appt cancelled til end of October and then i probably will see a registrar who from past experience will be useless.

Yes only on Tamoxifen 5 weeks and also have the low back pain when sitting almost like a ‘period pain’ type ache.

Hi all

does everyone experience weight gain with Tamoxifen? I will be starting this later in the year after my rads.

No Cecelia, I have been on Nolvadex D (branded tamoxifen) for four months and no weight gain. I am post menopausal. Everyone is different. I lost a stone after dx last October and was determined not to put it back on. So I weigh myself every other morning and cut out all sweet stuff if I have gained a lb! Also do a lot of walking. Good luck with your treatment.
