Am now nearly three weeks since last one, and feel really pleased not to have anymore needles coming at me this week, but everything seems to be swelling up!! My ankles are puffy and my middle is just growing by the minute.
This happened a bit just before my last tax, but i think the steroids kicked in, taking the swelling down. I know this can be a side effect, but when will it go??? I’m off to Portugal in two weeks, and don’t want to go looking like the Michlien Man.
Sorry, not too much in the way of advice for you as I was on E-CMF. However, when I asked yesterday they told me that it will take approx 6 weeks for the chemo to be out of my system. Perhaps that is why you are still suffering with side effects, which hopefully will gradually start to dissappear.
Enjoy Portugal you lucky devil. We are planning to go to Portugal some time in the new year. We have never been but are keen golfers so are planning a nice golfing holiday. I can’t wait!! Have a great time and be sure to make us all jealous when you come back! LOL!
I am nearly four weeks on from last Tax, and still the side effects are coming. My nails are getting worse, and more numb patches are appearing on my feet. Sorry not to have better news for you. Also there is no sign of my hair re-growing yet. Really can’t wait for that.
Thanks for your comments - can only say roll on 6 weeks!!
Yesterday looked up swelling/water retention on net and now drinking water like a fish, eating loads of bananas, and trying to exercise (joke).
It’ll just mean more floaty tops to cover up the belly, can’t do much about the ankles, but what with the wig and the false boob, what the hell!! Just looking forward to getting away and relaxing. You’ll love Portugal Kelly, the people are brill and the golf excellent so I am told, OH is rugby player at present but getting to that age where golf is starting to beckon!
Roadrunner, my nails too are still getting worse, but I’ve now painted mine so I can’t see whats happening underneath, and I’m sure just not being able to see the c…p going on is making them feel better. Keeping them out of water and nowhere near polish/cleaners is helping (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it).
I believe you’re going onto rads, Kelly, good luck with that, its a doddle after chemo.
