Yes and it lasted for months afterwards, even though I’ve got plenty of meat on my ribs! I don’t know the significance of this, hopefully someone with more knowledge will tell us.

I finished rads in March and recently noticed a couple of sore spots on my ribs on the affected side. I saw the onc yesterday and mentioned it to him. He said it is sometimes unavoidable that your ribs can get a blast of rads, and that can cause tenderness even months afterwards. He said it is nothing to worry about and certainly not a sign of anything sinister e.g. cancer returning or bone mets which of course was my biggest concern. From the exact location of the sore spots my onc could be quite sure it was just an SE from the rads.
So it sounds like it’s just another of those bl00dy things we just have to get on with! Definitely mention it to your own docs though if it continues. It’s always best to get these things confirmed. Best wishes xx
Thanks Sarah & sallieannie, I wasn’t so worried it was anything bad, I had heard other ladies saying about sore ribs but this was few weeks/ months after, I was suprised to have this SE so soon I’ll mention it Monday when I have my last one
