Hi im having taxol/ carboplatin at moe but I’m having terrible upset belly every month and stomach cramps the pain killers are not working anyone else having this any tips be great until I see doc next wk so painfully cld scream laura
Laura, are you having injections to boost your immune system ? I heard of people having very intense labour-like pain as a result of a rather unusual interaction between taxol and those injections. If you feel very bad don’t wait in pain until the planned appt, call them.
Hi no don’t need them I did ring but they just saying carry on with painkillers had it last 3 cycles just uncomfy had really loose bowels so that prob why
I think they can prescribe something for very loose bowels, or you could ask if you can take an over-the-counter medication to stop diahorrea.
Hi Laura,
Sorry you’re suffering. If it’s loose bowels - maybe immodium or something could help, as Barbwill says. These things always seem to happen on weekends, don’t they? Hope you get some relief.

Hi Laura-am on FEC and the stomach cramps are really painful as you describe-I went to the dr and he prescribed loperamide which did the trick.I also noticed that the cramps seem to happen in the evenings(typically when the drs are closed)If yu are in alot of pain please speak your dr -we have enough to put up with without the terrible side effects.Feel free to pm me if it helps -Marie x
