Terrified please help !!!

To cut a long story short found 2 lumps, reffered had scans & biopsys, which came back benign on the biopsy, but scans told a different story as they showed blood vessels, so lumps removed on the 15th Jan.

I was discharged from hospital from the operation the consultant told me again that he wouldnt need to see me as he thought the lumps were benign, and said he would send the results in the post within 2 weeks and that was that…

Till today when I had a call from the Breast unit asking me to come in and see the consultant a week today, I asked why as the results were meant to be coming in the post, and she told me no the consultant needs to see me about the results

I cant tell you what I am feeling at the moment as since its 2 weeks tomorrow since the op I had convinced myself “no news is good news” and now I have been called back in to the hospital - should I now prepare myself as obviously its nothing as it must be something???

Hi Jackie. I won’t say something stupid like ‘try not to worry’ as of course we all do. It’s good that the biopsy was benign but a biopsy is only part of the lump and only the whole lump can tell the whole story. The main thing is whatever state the lumps are they are now removed.

Waiting for results is always the hardest bit. I do sympathise, but try and keep busy and please come back and let us know how you get on. There are many lovely people on here who will support you and offer advice.

Sending you a hug and hoping it all turns out to he benign.
