Hi. I’m new to all this and absolutely terrified!! I’m 61 years old and had my routine mammogram. I received a recall letter on Friday (which I didn’t get until later on in the day). I rang and left a message as I was really anxious but no-one was there, and then it was the weekend. I’ve just had a lovely nurse ring me to say that something is showing up near the middle of one of my breasts. Not sure if it began with the letter C but don’t really want to start googling. She said it could be a cyst or something else. Got my appointment tomorrow morning and feel so sick and churned up. I’ve just got a bad feeling x
Hi Helamy, sorry you are having such and anxious time .When I got my recall letter I researched the statistics and found that something like 3/4 of all recalls turned out not to be cancer so the odds are definitely on your side .If it is cancer and it has been found via mammogram it is very likely to have been caught very early and therefore very treatable .Let us know how you get on.Jill.
It’s b******s waiting when you feel so anxious ,time goes very slowly .I am exactly 2 years post diagnosis via routine mammogram and I am fine as are most of the ladies I got to know on the forum 2 years ago I had surgery and Radiotherapy. If you are diagnosed come back and talk to us lots of support here .
Keeping everything crossed for you .
Sounds positive ,I know a lady who had similar ,tried to drain what they thought was a cyst but couldn’t, biopsy taken came back clear .Hopefully you will soon be able to breath a big sigh of relief .
Great news
