The waiting game

I’ve just had a wide local excision and lymph node removal for a stage 2 invasive ductal cancer - found ‘accidentally’ through MRI - I’d originally been referred because of a ‘raised area’ in other breast. Waiting for results now and treatment but still worried about the other breast which has microcalcifications. My consultant is focusing on the stage 2 cancer in other breast but i’m worried abut the microcalc. as not sure whether there is a problem with this - my consultant says its OK but I haven’t had a biopsy, just a Mammo and MRI. Can anyone help?
Thank you

Hi teacherh,
Can’t really help as my microcalc were mixed in with my invasive ductal cancer (also found accidentally!) but I’m sure someone else on here can. Otherwise you could ask your BCN or consultant if you can have a biopsy as then you will either get one or s/he will explain more carefully why you don’t need one especially if you go in with questions such as how do you know it isn’t BC or won’t turn into BC etc. Good luck.
