That’s an absolutely brilliant summary - I’m nearly five years down the line now…you have summed it all up SO well. Breath of fresh air - when my ‘journey’ began no-one else around seemed to have any criticsal faculties at all (seemed everyone just too terrifried -quite naturally). Seemed I was all alone in ever questioning anything. I think it is so good, so healthy, to ask questions - not take everything lying down - else how are things ever going to improve? The consultants etc need ‘feedback’. Some of the things that happened to me were just downright wrong (particularly in retrodpect). It was all so…bewildering and scary (quite unnecessarily so). It is not wrong to question the system - it can be very helpful. - for eveyone. Well done 
Was for a biopsy in 2024.
A different new lump picking out of my boob made me ask for a mammogram at local hospital.
Staff didn’t seem interested in it pointing out of my boob 2025 and was not offered a biopsy or ultrasound.
Went to my female gp and said I not heard of results of mammogram . GP SAID ALL WAS FINE.
This year my boob was changing a lot and even bigger lump and it tied itself down .
Private medical mammogram and biopsy and surgeon said it was cancer and a large lump 8cm
So sorry this has happened to you.
I think this reinforces the importance of us women being our own advocates. I think we typically lack the ability to be assertive and maybe don’t put ourselves top of the list and accept when the ‘experts’ give us an opinion. Mammograms are great, but can’t pick up everything as I found out when my year 3 came back clear, but in fact I had stage 2/3 HER2 +ve cancer. But I had a scab on my boob and an underlying intuition that I was not right, so I pushed back.

Hi Jaygo I too got the “all clear” from my first mamogram about 6 months before finding out I have stage 4 Lobular Breast Cancer which had spread to my bones.
No, mamagrams certainly don’t pick up every breast cancer so always always push back!

Hi there. I’m just starting my ‘journey’ and the wait is crippling! Had surgery = clear margins but lymph node results not yet back (surgery 19th June). I’m booked for fat transfer */- axillary clearance 24th July. My surgeon is calling today so hopefully will have answers and (tentative) plan
