Hi,
Just seeking some advice. I posted on the ‘Benign Breast Conditions’ board and await the results of my second lumpectomy.
I am 27 and had my first lumpectomy 2 years ago, 4 fibroadenomas were removed. I had my second on Monday and 2 fibroadenomas and 1 cyst were removed.
When I had my consultation they tried to drain the cyst but couldn’t, on Monday they told me when they removed it that the fluid was very thick. Is this unusual?- has anyone experienced this?
I was under local and the consultant made me an appointment there and then for next Thursday to discuss the results, should I be worried? I can’t help but be.
I have always been a regular at the clinic due to my numerous lumps and bumps and always had the results over the phone. I know this isn’t normal practice but the appointment to ‘discuss’ has just got me thinking. It could be nothing but wondered if anyone had been through a similar experience with cysts?
Thanks for your help!

hi Gem
i had a cyst similar to the one you mentioned… it was found about 2 years ago and was called an inspissated cyst which had thick fluid and debris in… its quite difficult to drain and they are classed as complex cysts and not that common. but it doesnt cause cancer the area i had the cyst is in completely different part of my breast to where the tumours were so fingers crossed its the same for you.
