Hi 947902,

Brilliant news, oh am so pleased to read this, hopefully I too have third time lucky.

To be honest, yesterday I was absolutely done in with it all, its alot to deal with both mentally & physically in such a short space off time. I was so frustrated to say the least (bad words came out my mouth on more than a few occasions), my head was definitely not in a good place. I had a seroma a week after my 2nd operation that needed to get drained & its back but definitely not as painful, I was offered to have it drained yesterday or leave it until friday as it being there will help my surgeon, so I’ve left it for him. I’ve been sore & feeling so very sick after the 2nd operation as well, but I had no issues with my 1st operation, just doesn’t make sense. Today, am pleased to say my head is doing so much better, Ive spoke with a friend (we both cried) then I done a resistance session at the gym, lifting is my therapy & boy have I missed it, am now ready for Friday & whatever comes of my oncotype results. I know am definitely getting 7 sessions of radiotherapy & will be put on tamoxifen, but just now the jury is unsure ref chemo until these results come back.

Just hope friday gets these clear margins & the next part of my journey can begin.

Hope you get on ok next week & glad the healing is going well. Would you mind posting up your progress ? We seam to be on 2 very similar journeys & this has given me hope for mine.

Positive vibes for next week for you xx

Yes I will let you know what they say next week and all the best for your next op. You said you felt sick after your surgery, I felt so sick for days after my first one, but then they changed the drugs they gave me for the second one and I didn’t feel sick at all (same for the third one). I don’t know if you feel sick because if the general anaesthetic, but if it is definitely mention it to the anaesthetist, I couldn’t believe it afterwards, felt absolutely fine xx

You’ve no idea how comforted I am to read your post. I’m new to the diagnosis (jan 2024) and after 3 rather traumatic biopsies and one LWE with no clear margins, I’m going back in next week for round two. I lost a great deal of weight last year and I have very little breast mass left so I’m super anxious about a second op. That said reading yours and others posts, I feels less alone in this journey. At 43 I don’t have any friends or associates that have been through BC and feeling so alone with it all. Hope your recovery is a positive one x

Hi there Beth? I had three biopsies too, then a magseed and a wire. You are definitely not alone, I am the same age as you. Hopefully your next WLE will work. Let me know if you want my number and I will add it on here then delete it after. Rachel x

Hey,
Thank you for taking the time to reply, super kind of you.
That mag seed & wire procedure it pretty yukky isn’t it!? Had that just before that last WLE… I dont understand why it was needed when they seem to have removed so much tissue in other places too. I appreciate they know what they’re looking for!! I think I’m most nervous of the healing time coupled with the risk of malformation… My last op left me with a very large hematoma, which I’ve literally just had drained and started to feel a little normal after. I am anxious about it happening again I guess. How was your healing journey after the 2nd op? Have you started your post op treatment? ( forgive me if you assist said, my memory is appauling atm)…
Again, I’m really grateful for your reply :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@947902 @willowherb great to hear your 3rd WLE was successful.

After a lot of consideration i have opted for a mastectomy, as my breast surgeon was very doubtful a 3rd surgery could be successful with it being a new area of DCIS and then due to having had a large area of DCIS in the other breast previously, I have opted for a bilateral procedure. I will also be having DIEP reconstruction at the same time, its a big operation but it feels the best option for me. I am lucky in the fact that i shouldn’t require any additional treatment following the surgery  :crossed_fingers:

My surgery has finally been booked in for tomorrow, so currently swinging between terrified and wanting the whole thing to be over.
