Thoughts on skipping hormone therapy

Does castor oil work for the skin too? I have just been using it for eyelashes and eyebrows!

Like you I’ve been struggling to make a fixed decision. On Anastrozole for 6 weeks and even after 2 weeks had awful side effects. Dry mouth, fatigue (more than age related !) brain ā€˜fog’, blurred vision then I had a mouth abscess and quite drastic gum receeding issue. My dentist said this was so different from when I was at my usual check up only 3 months previously and suggested it is linked to anti-hormone tablets. As I also have a rare Leukaemia (LGLL) and have issues such as fatigue and joint pain I was finding it difficult to add another set of painful side effects from other medication. My specialist did say that it was my decision and he understands that living with side effects is not a good life then it would be understandable to stop taking anti-hormone medication. It really has been a difficult choice and I still have that nagging ā€˜should I try again’ but as I’m now feeling well being off them I’d rather continue this way. It is really such a personal decision but it’s good to have support from all the lovely ladies on this forum.

Castor oil is amazing for the skin. Any skin lesions also good. Can do a lot of healing with it. It is good to use one that has been tested to have the correct elemental make up in it.

That’s a tough decision Beehivesue and I admire you greatly for it. I haven’t begun the drugs yet but I get side effects from drugs and pain killers and if I get any unpleasant side effects on these hormone blocking drugs I’m coming straight off them. I metabolise drugs very slowly and letrozole is one standard dose so cant split it. I may try Tamoxifen if the letrozole is too much. I am looking at the radiotherapy as a nurse told me its easy and they do it in 5 days now. It isn’t conclusive. I also do a lot of products that work on the oestrogens receptors to support this as well. Nothing is conclusive but each of us have to go our own way.
