Time for another London Meet?

Jacksy and I have decided we are long overdue a London meet - it would be so lovely to catch up with some of the “old” faces again (though sadly there are far too many now who are no longer with us) and to meet some new ones as well.

We were wondering about Thursday October 15th - at Cafe Rouge near St Pauls again? We have in the past met late morning for coffee etc and then had lunch.

What do others think?

I would love to come though not sure I am well enough. I can’t get out of Black cabs and its hard to find taxi saloons in London. Put me down as a possible but it really is only a possible.

About getting around and taxis. Try a firm called Addison Lee, a large car hire / taxi operation (google for the main phone number and book by phone rather than on line). I know that they have people carriers, you see them all over town; but also saloons as I was in one this week. I have found them reliable. Good luck taxi and generally.

Hi!

Can i come? Sounds nice, i would be a new face! Diagnosed July 1st 16mm no nodes grade 3, will have had second chemo by then so would be nice to get some advice!

Thanks,
xxx

I would love to come. Diagnosed secondaries in April this year, and would be nice to meet everyone.

Hi all,

I’d like to come please. Will have had 2nd chemo that week, so could feel a bit rough, but would love to meet people.

I dread making commitments because I never know how I’m going to feel (particularly if I start on Tx) but would love to join you for the morning coffee! Thanks!

Hi I see this post is in the Living with Secondaries forum but just checking if the London meet is for secondaries or all? Just wondered as I can’t make it but I have mentioned the meet to some long time secondary posters who don’t use the forums as much as they used to…Love B…x

yes these meetings are intended for those with secondaries (or like me with incurable regional recurrences.)

Jane

People carriers are worse than taxis. I look like a beached whale when attemting to board. ordinary salloons are all I can manage.

Jane

Thanks Jane…x

I would love to meet up with you all as so many of you have helped me loads - so depending on childcare etc, I’ll be there.

I’ll be a new face - just diagnosed with regional recurrence in neck and chest lymph nodes, back on chemo and herceptin as of last week - please let me know when and where,

thanks

hannah

Ooops! Sorry ladies! I thought this was just a general meeting. I am still trying to find my way through the forums and can’t save any discussions because the links don’t work. Apologies and best wishes for your meeting. I hope you can make it Jane.

HiThere - yes I willtry and make it- would be good to see seople again …and meet new faces, Jayne

That’s great. It will be lovely to meet some new faces. I know Kay’s away now (Odysey then Cyprus, I think it is) so just keep signing up and when she gets back we’ll book a table.
Jane, it would be so lovely to see you. What about any organisation such as dial-a-ride (to match your new ‘disabled’ status - sorry!) who might have low ramps you could walk on to board, or something?
Love to all

I’d certainly hope to make it. It will give me some Dutch courage for Friday when I get the results of my 6 month scan!

Hi all

Just back from Odyssey course (one of the most fantastic weeks of my life!)and nice to see some people “signing” up for the meet. Sorry about the confusion over whether it was an “open” meet or specifically for those with secondaries/incurable regional recurrences - should have made it clearer in my original post. Thanks for raising the issue, Belinda.

Think we have:
Me
Jacksy
Trixie
hannah11
jaynemh
manon
JaneRA possibly - trying to think of ways to get you there!Am happy to meet at Waterloo as before and help in any way I can.

Apologies if I’ve missed anyone off the list. More names still very welcome…

Not off to Cyprus, Jacksy, until later October (have to go to work sometimes!). Are your results this Friday, Manon, or the Friday after the meet? Getting results certainly doesn’t get any easier does it?

Kay

Hi Kay

Glad to hear you enjoyed your Odyssey week. I did the Kent session too so we can get together in a corner and compare notes secretively!
My scan is on the 13th and the runes are read on the 16th and despite the fact that I feel well and my good intentions not to worry, the couple of days before are always a bit tense as you know… Mine will be the large white wine…

Jane - I hope you can make it. It would be good to see you again. For everyone else I look forward to seeing old and new friends.
