Don’t know if you have to be a subscriber to the facsimile Times on line to have seen this, but here’s a (suitably coded) link to the blog that was mentioned in the Times article.
Don’t know what to make of it myself, overall (curate’s egg and all that?)…but I’ll let anyone who wants to, look first and see what they think.
I read the article in my copy of the Sunday Times while eating my breakfast.
It was inoffensive, but the author clearly is richer than many of us, as the Hermes’ scarf will suggest. However, if there is a luxury that you’ve been denying yourself for years, perhaps now this the time to indulge yourself?
I’ve wanted an Omega Oyster watch for years generally but settle for a perfectly reasonable Seiko. I’ve had a few;they never break down, just get tatty looking when the thin layer of gold (which has to be described as “yellow metal”) comes off.
Hope you don’t think I was offended not at all I Have a Rolex My husband bought it from beyond the grave along with a beautiful eternity ring. Left at my favourite jeweler with a bottle of champagne and a thank you card for looking after him through the final months of this disease. That was 25 years ago and I never did get to the bottom of when he went to make his purchase.
