I had biopsy results yesterday (5th Aug) that confirmed bc in my right breast, they also told me they are “suspicious” about some calcification in my left breast and also suspicious about the lymph nodes on my right. So I had a second FNA in the lymph node (the first one was inconclusive I think) and a biopsy on the left. My concern at the moment is that I feel like I’m at the mercy of consultants holidays. I havent seen mine yet. Yesterday they initially said the FNA and left breast biopsy would be done at the end of August until my partner objected that it has already taken a month to get this far (plus i have family history) and they rethought and did it then and there. They are now talking about surgery sometime in September (I gather that’s when my consultant is back from holidays). I appreciate everyone needs a holiday but it all seems a bit vague. Please can anyone offer advice?
Hi Chance,I sorry that you have been diagnosed with bc, l am sure others will come along and give you support.
It is the waiting and results, that we all find so very hard!
My understanding is you have to have had your operation within 30days of being diagnosed, l am sure other ladies will correct me if l am wrong. I would be surprised if there was just one surgeon doing the operations! in the meantime, perhaps a word with the breast care nurse about your concerns, with regards to the delay!
Best Wishes
Sandra
I also thought there was a thirty day limit tho logically this could perhaps not count if there were further investigations? Not sure. But I do know that my surgeon was going off work sick to have her own op and she rearranged stuff and did some evening surgeries to ensure she had done all her ladies herself and within acceptable times. I think guidelines may be within the nice guidelines. Am sure someone else will know more though. Sorry to hear of your dxxxx
