Hiya girls, guess what??? finally GOT MY DATE! 24Th May need to be in the Hospital by 7.30am can’t wait!! dreading the catheter ;-( just need a few more bits for my bag, do you think two or three nightshirts??and when will i be able to put the sports bra on?? my questions probably sound daft now to you girls, ha ha. Lisaf and Summer11 you both sound so positive and seem to be getting along just fine, so pleased for you, as they say “things can only get better” must admit nerves went when i actually seen the date in black and white! seemed so real! well it is isn’t it? carry on posting all the good stories and tips/advice as Lynette (nonsuch) is still doing, because it really gives us girls waiting a real boost thanks girls take it easy, love Lynn XXXX
Hi Lynn, Same date as me! Which hospital? BB xx
Hi all ladies in waiting!
It’s so fab seeing so many come through one by one, get through the tough part and move in so quickly. There’s always a fear that “that’s fhem, what about me” but seeing so many come through with good results does help.
Anyway, to nitty gritty…Just to say, dont worry about the catheter…I was terrified the idea but honestly, it’s no problem and makes life so much easier. The more you drnk the better for your BP and for getting Ga out of your system, and knowing you don’t have to worry about getting to the loo is such a relief. It goes in when your under and I really couldn’t feel it at all. Slightly undignified when it’s taken out, but its moments and nurses are used to it, it didn’t hurt at all.
In terms of nghtwear, Hospitals vary but in mine they only drape the gown over you for first few couple of days while you’re kept in bed. Then your own is prob better as the back slit is a bt undignified when you get out of bed.front opening essential, so they can check your boob and underarm area…and you need plenty of space to help you manoeuvre into and out of bed otherwise it can feel uncomfortable. Sleeveless or shortsleeve is best as constantly having BP checked, mid length is good to assist dignity, long might get tangled.
Hope this helps and I’m happy to share my list of useful “stuff” if anyone else would like to have a look…Pm me your email…
Really pleased for Shoez after waiting so long!

Hi ladies in waiting… Haha love it !
Just to say yippee you have your dates which is great. I buried my head in anything I could until the pre op and actual day. I packed a small bag the eve of the op. hubby brought anything else after so no panic.
Yes drink lots of water. It is encouraged and catheter is fine. Nice not to have to think about it actually. Bit weird when removed and nice to have a normal wee I remember I too was on paracetamol and tramadol after day 3.
I am now 3 weeks on. Still take paracetamol sometimes. Tummy does get that tight band feeling. Its weird and goes off if i put my feet up. Have removed tapes on scars as advised by consultant. I have started massaging the scar. Physio said move it to stop adhesions. I have used a little lavender oil and arnica to aid healing. I get tired quite easily but am back to doing a bit of everything. I have started walking a little with hubby and my dog and drove a little just to see what it was like. So everything in small amounts with feet up in between. I,m not someone to sit around mind u! And boob and cleavage still wonderful to view:-) makes it all worthwhile.
Anyways Happy Easter to all. enjoy your choc eggs. X x
Glad to hear you’ve got dates ladies, it makes it feel so much more ‘real’ once you do but I also found some of the nerves started to drop off a bit as I felt more committed to it. Keep busy it helps, found it a great help to go through the freezer, larder and other cupboards pre-op and stock up on supplies beforehand. Same with all the ironing and cleaning jobs, in the way of well if I dont do that now I’m not going to be able to for x amount of week after op, am I happy to leave it or will it annoy me after.
Hope you are as thrilled with your results as I am, 6 weeks post op and though get tired easily and am feeling tight artound tummy things are recovering well and new boob is getting better each week as the bruiing and swelling goes down
Good luck and if no ones spoilt you with an easter egg, get yourselves one half price tomorrow as the plastic surgeon will sort out any consequences of having it xx
