I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that had to have a tissue expander removed due to continual infection? Yesterday I had one moved under local and it not only involved the cut across the cheat but one in the side to remove the port, as I live in Cyprus was just wondering if it is common practice to do this procedure under local!?
Hi rosie I had my implant (nit expander) removed about 11 weeks after it was put in because of repeated infections. It was done under general though. They went back in through mx scar but saved all the skin so I can have another one put in after chemo.
I had a tissue expander removed 2 years ago. I had it done under general. I don’t know if it is common to have it done under local.
