Today’s the Day Hi Ladies & Gents,

Well today is the day when I go into hospital for my bilateral mastectomys with TRAM reconstruction tomorrow afternoon!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who have written to me and supported me over the past couple of months. I actually feel not too bad today, I just want the end of the week to be here and it will all be over. No more worrying about when will I get it, and who’s going to look after my daughter and will I be around to see her grow up and get married…

Lisa1974 - just wanted to say good luck with your blood test, I know you won’t get your results back until about 3 - 4 weeks, but I know you go and have it done today. You will be fine, and no matter what the result you will cope and be ok. You know that I’m here if you need to talk. (Will have to swap e mail addresses on the other site!)

I will write again as soon as I can, but thanks to all of you for helping me get to where I am now.

Hi Lynne Just wanted to say I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow afterbiib and hope it all goes really, really well.

Just think - in a week or so you’ll be back home, it will all be over, and you can get on with the rest of your life.

Welcome Home ! Hi Lynne,

I have been thinking about you all day, by the time you read this you will be home and on the road to recovery, and you will be feeling fine I am sure.

I went to Manchester for my blood tests today, started to feel anxious last night, thinking this is it now, once the blood is taken ! Anyway after wrestling with my veins (BIG bruises on each arm!) they managed to get enough blood ! I have a date for my results and that is 1.30pm Monday 21st August ! It is all so real now. People keep saying oh it could be negative and I so hope that it is. Today I was asked the question “how will you cope if it is negative” I had never really thought about that ! I suppose in a nice way it would be an anti climax after all the thought and decisions etc.

Anyway hope you are ok and keep in touch and let me know how you have got on. Happy to swop email addresses, not sure what this “other” site is that people talk of ?

The “other” site is at phpbbserver.com/breastcancer/ and it has private messaging, plus a Genetic forum. There’s a lot of good support there too.
