Hi. I’m hoping for some reassurance from you lovely ladies. I was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer 3 years ago and underwent surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. I am currently taking Letrozole. About a month ago I had a sharp pain in my chest. A visit to the breast consultant was reassuring but he decided to send me for a bone scan to be sure. That was last Tuesday. Today I was told that a hot spot had shown up on my scan and they now want to send me for a CT scan and have asked for a cancellation appointment to make it quick. I am convinced that they think it is bone mets but they are saying that it could be due to a number of things but they don’t want to miss anything. I’m grateful that they are being cautious because I don’t want them to miss anything. Do you think I am worrying unnecessarily?
Hi elf4d. I was scanned in April because the onc found a hot spot. They also sent me for a MRI scan and it turn out to be nothing not bone mets. I have an onc that likes to cover every base which is good because if they do find anything and its a big if they can treat it. Its difficult not to worry but as I have discovered recently worrying serves no purpose. Take care.x
