Wow this is so true one of the side effects they keep secret problem is you’re so bloody tired most of the time you can’t even think about doing any physical exercises as climbing the stairs to bed is an effort you’ve got to laugh as it’s better than crying
Letrozole….the joint and muscle pain…the only joint that wasn’t in pain at one stage was my left elbow…random, I know!
My oncologist switched me to exemestane 25mg. Im on it x2 weeks and Im still left with pretty much the same side effects!
Maybe im being a wuss though!
Im not doing much excercise and when I do, im banjaxed for a day or two. I went kayaking on a lake with me doggy and it was sooo good to be back out on the water. When I came home I slept for 16 hours….Jazuz!
Im gonna try (again) starting yoga at our cancer care centre.
I find im going from ‘giving up’ tantrum to ‘f.you’ grinding my teeth determination!
I changed from Letrozole to Aromasin, and found that not as bad. (Just reread the box and it IS exemestane! However, finding I can’t tuck my left arm under my pillow in the same way as I can the right, when I saw an osteopath, it seems I have cording and adhesions formed! I’ve now got exercises to try and release the adhesions!!
Ha! So very, very true! Lol I’ve been on it for nearly 7 years…my time is up in August 2027. I’ve found there is a HUGE difference with the brands but luckily my local chemist has managed to always provide me with the ACCORD brand.. This definitely means that every day life is not painful. I used to feel like I was dragging my body around on some of the other brands.
I have been on Kisqali and letrozole for 3 months for breast cancer that has metastasized to the bones only so will be on meds for the rest of my life. Letrozole is causing lots of anxiety I just can’t handle that. Read there are different brands accord seems like it might be better need to call pharmacist on Monday and see which brand they have. Anyone else having anxiety from meds?
I started Letrozole in 2024 after having HRT receptive breast cancer, I can 100% relate to the weight gain especially in tummy area, it gets me so down at times, I look at my self in the mirror and hate what I see.
Hi I’ve just been given the green light by my oncologist to have 6 weeks off Letrozole, my gums are sore, broken and bleeding. I’ve been on Letrozole for 2 years and 8 months now, I could live with the belly and the sore joints but the gums are on another level of suffering. The oncologist seemed surprised by the side effect, but everywhere I read, it says low oestrogen can cause oral problems !
I’ve been on letrozole for 2 1/2 years and it matters which pharmacy makes this medicine . I too have less side effects with company Accord . I take my medicine at night which helps with the fatigue but it also causes me to have insomnia at night . I asked my radiologist oncologist if they had a study showing breast cancer patient 5 years without taking the estrogen blockers and breast cancer patients 5 years taking the estrogen blockers . Although I’m probably like a lot of you I don’t want to take it but I do because of my encouragement from my doctors . I think it all depends on what each person goes through. Everyone has to make their own decisions according to how they feel.
