Sorry to state the obvious, but have you found someone at the hospice who can make things happen? If not, can you get back to your Mum’s original consultant to make your feelings felt? I know you are not keen on the oncologist, but since he is so good at making direct comments to you, have you tried being really direct with him? He may respect you for it.
I do so understand what you are all going through.
We’ve spoken to several doctors at the hospice (seems to be a different one every day)but they are very non-commital & say “it’s a difficult one”.
Is it possible to speak to the oncologist directly? Whenever we have contacted the cancer clinic, we always get put through to Breast Care nurses or somebody else who acts as go-between. We have never been able to speak to him directly. Could we ask Mum’s GP if he could intervene perhaps?
When I re-read my posts, it sounds a lot like i’m having a whinge without doing anything but we keep pressing people & don’t seem to be getting anywhere.
Hi, I just phoned the Helpline. It’s the first time I’ve ever called and the lady I spoke to has inspired me with information about what I/we as a family can do to help this situation with my Mum.
