too much pot?

Hi all, not sure I have the right forum here for this question but here goes…
my mother was diagnosed with her2 positive 7 months ago. She finished chemo
some 8 weeks ago after a truly horrific experience. I wanted to know from personal
experience about lingering nausea. She still has it and has resorted to smoking pot
to ease the nausea. Still still has no appetite and has nothing to do except lie in her
bed. Today, her doctor recomended having a cat scan - it was negative (thank you God!)
but the last few days she has not been making sense - her thinking and communication
is quite poor. Doctors dont know why. She’s still taking a plethora of drugs + the pot
+ heavy anxiety… its all taking a toll! Please advice with any and all comments!

So my question is 1. how long does the nausea tyrpically last after chemo ends?

and 2) why has she suddenly lost the ability to make sense?

thank you!!

Glad the scan was clear.  Nausea is usually short lived after the Chemo effects have worn off.  It is unlikely that the confusion / lack of making sense are related directly to just the Chemo if they are going worse at this stage.  Many people report a cognitive impairment (difficulty in recalling events accurately and some confusion).

I have worked with many people who smoke pot for analgesia but it is a mind altering drug and and has little effect in alleviating nausea.

If your Mum is taking ‘a plethora’ of medication maybe these need reviewing and you don’t say if she was previously using Pot.

Wishing your Mum well in the rest of her treatment.
