A question I have been reading other people’s experiences with travel insurance. I finish rads mid October and we actually booked yesterday (of all days!) to go to Cyprus for a week in November. Work are aware of this as I will still be on sick leave and think it is a good idea for me.
Freedom have quoted us £135 for the week!! Another one quoted over £400 - could go on holiday again for that!
Spoke to a nice lady at Marrs but I was declined for cover for the BC as I won’t be 3 months out of treatment by then even if I wait until October to actually apply. They can cover for everything else for £35 for us both but BC will be excluded. She said that I would find that was pretty general and the fact that I have declared my medical history to them means that there would be no quibbles if I broke my leg for instance. Tempted to go for this as she agreed with me as to what on earth is likely to happen regards the BC that couldn’t wait a week until I get home???
Question - shall I carry on trying to get a better quote (try Age Concern, Post office?) or give up trying and go for this?
What on earth IS likely to happen anyway? I am aware of the sun issue and covering up etc and have never had lynphodema or anything other than chemo side effects which is done and dusted as of yesterday.
Very demoralising! I need a holiday really badly!
