Just finished radiotherapy a few weeks ago after 2 ops and chemo. Decided to go on a cruise and be pampered but the cost of travel insurance seems to be quite high. Has anyone any recommendations? I’m taking my Mum with me, she has been my rock throughout the last 9 months although she has also just recovered from bowel cancer 18 months ago, so we are both I suppose high risk.

Hi Janet
Breast Cancer Care have a publication on travel insurance which you may find useful, it can be found by following the link below:-

I hope you find this helpful.

Hi Janet
Try miaonline - if you google them you’ll get their phone number.
I have secondaries and they are the only one that will cover me because I’m still on chemo. With a lot of the others you have to be a certain time out of treatment.
Many thanks for the info, will try them.

Hi Janet
Sounds like you really deserve a holiday ~ I finished treatment in February ~ so like me you must have lost most of last year!

They insured me for my trip to Spain in March and have also quoted a really competitive figure for a London to Paris cycle challenge I am hoping to undertake next June.
Hope that helps.

InsurePink won’t cover anyone unless they’re around 3 months out of treatment and this is a woman who has had breast cancer herself!
I also tried Insurepink - am just about to have FEC no 2 - they would insure me but wanted £900 for the privilege!! Could get a flight home for that!! RUBBISH! X
I have always got a yearly travel insurance from the Post Office which covers both my grandson and I for £59. When I renewed they told me that my irate would stay the same BUT I would not be covered for anything related to the bc. However I also have a European Health Insurance Card which entitles me to free treatment within Europe. I had to use this card when very ill in Spain and had absolutely no problems in accessing doctors or hospital.

i was 1 month out of treatment and insurepink covered me for a holiday in Spain at a very reasonable cost.
Try Medici who seem pretty good. I managed to get cover for me and my husband. Think you have to be 6 months post chemo and 3 months post rads. My husband has heart, arteritis and a couple of other problems which are worse than mine, but we got cover for both of us for those conditions for £150 for three weeks in Greece.
Good luck

Mia cover people regardless of whether they are in treatment or not. I’m going to South of France next month for £44.50 for two weeks and am on chemo.
