I know there are a few posts about searching for travel insurance but wonder if any of you mets ladies can recommend anywhere?
My OH and I are off to Majorca in Oct. I am 44, have bone mets and am on zoladex, arimidex and zometa and my OH has just had a suspected angina attack (mild we think) - he already has high blood pressure and cholesterol and is 63. He is waiting to go on a treadmill and has a hospital appointment for a mid Oct so it can’t be that bad ! I’m willing to travel with bc excluded on the grounds that it’s Majorca and I wouldn’t be going if I didn’t think I was fit but OH is concerned about his condition in an emergency. We both have the EU medical cards.
None of the companies listed on other threads (miaonline to phone tomorrow) will cover me anyway so my OH can get cover but it’s £200 upwards for 2 weeks…the one company that would cover us both wanted £1600 !!! Doctors think we are both fit to travel.
i have same diagnosis as u and i travel regularly tyo the red sea, i use the aa, they will not cover u for the bc but will put an exclusion in and charge u only the samer cost as normal insurance,if ur travelling to majorca there will be lots of flights bak to the uk shouldu get worried and decide u need to come home and go to hospital, being only a couple of hours away, i would consider this option as its always been gd for me
good luck
Wish Mia online did actually give quotes online tho lol.
Wondering if any of you that got a quote via mia online also got a quote from “all clear travel” ? (they do actually quote online)
If so which was cheapest?
Alternatively anyone got any experience with “Allcleartravel” ?
Hi
I’ve used Miaonline for Europe and USA, I have bone mets. Very reasonable premiums but they only insure you if you are due to travel in the next 2 months. Also they may not insure for cancellation due to your condition but you are fully covered whilst on holiday. They seem to be the only company to cover mets reasonably, other companies will insure primary bc’s and I think I used All Clear Travel (back in the day, eh!) before I had mets. I have also since travelled to Europe several times without extra medical insurance as I have my EHIC card and get cover for all other problems through my bank account.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I rang miaonline and they quoted me £89 for both of us for the 16 days and covering both our medical conditions so I will probably do it for peace of mind for my OH’s heart condition rather than my bc.
Interestingly, they did say they need it to be noted on our medical records at the GPs to say we are fit to travel otherwise it breaks the policy conditions but my OH is at the hospital tomorrow for a check and I’m there on Thurs so we can hopefully clarify then !!
