Not sure if this will be allowed but here goes.
April edition of Good Housekeeping mentions a recently launched insurance company, by an underwriter who has been through breast cancer. The premium for a 10 day trip to Europe costs around £28 for a 55 yr old. 2 weeks to the US costs £84. If you are undergoing chemo or radiotherapy, there is a wait of 4 weeks before a policy can be issued. It is called insurepink - tel: 0800 022 3213.
I am off to Spain later this year and will give them a ring as the rates look good to me - just hope they cover my Crohn’s too!

Hi Liz
I used Insurepink when I went to Spain last month for a week. It cost 36GBP (no pound sign!) but I have got other problems, diabetes , and still getting treatment, herceptin. I thought that was quite reasonable considering some companies would not offer me any cover. Enjoy your hols.

Hi Jan,
great to know that company provides the goods. Last time I travelled abroad,to Florida to visit friends, when I had finished chemo and rads, I couldn’t get insured for bc, but unbelievably did for Crohn’s. That was through the Post Office. It will be interesting to see if insurepink wll cover me for Crohn’s as well.

Insurepink is fine as long as you don’t have secondaries as they won’t insure us which I find quite ironic as the woman who set the insurance company up has had breast cancer…
