Hi ladies. First time on this forum. Day 17 of first Fec and been quite lucky so far but this morning hair starting to go :(. From reading your posts seems like a good idea to get rid of it soon rather than later. Hubbie has offered to do it for me and he has been very supportive all the way through surgery and chemo so far but I get the impression he will find this really hard to do. X
Thanks Eileen…will wait and see how much I lose tomorrow but think i just want to get it over and done with so probably won’t wait until hair dresser opens on Tuesday. Yes, I have my wig ready and waiting and really pleased with it .
So glad i finally joined this forum, everybody seems very supportive and positive. 1st cycle has been so much more bearable than I had anticipated. Looking forward to seeing son and family tomorrow; they had kept away so that I didn’t catch their colds but have really missed them.
What does everybody do about socialising during your “low immunity” week? I have been invited to a party, which involves travel and an overnight stay.
Ten days after Fec-t first cycle and my hair was shedding and each day more profusely, so today I went and bought some clippers and have shaved it . Given that most of my hair was grey/white I now have a very pale scalp. The scarves now stick like velcro 
Thanks girls. I have the clippers at the ready. We’re going to have a head shaving party…I think? I’m on the SOLD trial, on the short arm of it so it’s herceptin and docetaxal for the first 3 and fec for the last 3. 50% go on the short arm and everyone else is in the usual chemo then herceptin for a year. I was lucky to get randomised on the accellerated dose.
Just been watching youtube. you can do fabulous head gear with old teeshirts. I’ ve tried and tested it and they are fab esp when you add a scarf. Costs virtually nothing. Also you can use one of the sleeves to give a bit of height and body to it. Even my daughter in law was impressed!! Praise indeed.

Had a lovely weekend doing lots of nice things with my gorgeous man. I’ve been spoilt & treated like a princess… feeling very blessed ??
Thankfully SE’s all quiet my end…still feeling fine & am now on countdown to next hospital visit on Thursday for bloods etc then seeing Onc to make sure all fine n dandy for 2nd FEC on Friday!

Hi Jiordi. I’ve heard that you shouldn’t have false nails as they would disguise any problems which the chemo (taxanes I think) will cause. Check with your oncologist . Eileen xx

I have also not been sleeping, so i bought an over the counter from Boots - Sominax, it works lovely, i feel so much better for having sleep.
We had a fabulous weekend, out walking in the sunshine, eating outside to avoid as many bugs as possible.
Countdown to wedding and party this weekend, just hope the hair holds - day 12 and all is good, so please all keep your fingers crossed for me please.
